How to Use This Guide
If you know what your planet is, what zodiac sign it is in, and what house this combination resides in, you can make a “sentence” out of it. For example I have Mars in Leo in the 12th house.
I would look at the Mars keywords and set them along side the 12th house keywords. You can mix and match them, turn them around, etc. These then are “possibilities” if you so choose to catalyze them or trigger them into your life–or not.
This is a very ‘general’ guide and if you have specific questions, you should ALWAYS defer this to a professional astrologer. Keywords are a way to learn the basics, but never replaces the finished touch that a professional astrologer can put on it.
Aspects: If you know aspects and what they mean, you can further use this guide. For example, my Mars is sextile my Jupiter. I could look up keywords for Mars and Jupiter and look at sextile to see what that means, in order to give a slant to these two planets in aspect to one another.
Asteroids: Asteroids are another component that many astrologers use in interpreting a natal chart. If you know WHERE your asteroids are in your chart, you can look up the asteroid and the house position in your chart to give you a better understanding of where the ‘action’ of it is, and how it will be playing out in your life.

Sun Sign Keywords?
We don’t have keywords for the Sun signs because you can simply take the planetary ruler of your Sun Sign and look at it and those stand for the sun sign that is ruled by it, as well.
Each word is an adjective which describes possibilities for you. The question you want to ask in the back of your mind is, “Does this word describe me or not?” If it does, fine. If it doesn’t, then this is a “possibility” for you to become if you make the CHOICE to do it.
To make this a little easier for new folks, here is the planetary rulers of your sun sign. Just go to that planet and it will describe your sun sign.

Moon Nodes
by Carol Willis

The Moon’s nodes represent the polarity and balance of the spiritual and the worldly. You will tend to have the most affinity and success with the lunar node closest to your Sun. If your Sun is exactly square to the lunar axis, then you have equal affinity with each.
South Node (KETU):
- Spirituality.
- Metaphysics and esotericism.
- Renouncing the “world”, i.e. renouncing worldliness.
- Releasing things, persons, and situations on the material plane, lightening the material load, simplifying.
- Gifts and talents that are easily available, easily unfolded and expressed further.
- Past life connections, old familiarity.
North Node (RAHU):
- Materiality, worldliness.
- Challenges, trying, efforting, struggle, tenacity, holding one’s own.
- Developing talents and willingness to operate in an area, and do this successfully.
- Persistence over time, often best done by applying self, then backing off, then going at it again after regrouping, over and over as needed, having a more neutral and willing attitude about outcomes, being less attached to worldly outcomes in the area of the Node.
