December 2006
This is going to be an emotional month, no doubt about it. Plus, it has to do with our partner, spouse or those we work with at our job/career. People are going to be a lot more sensitive and sensitized than usual; more quick to react than usual. Take this into consideration when they get grumpy, irritable or impatient. The Holidays seems to bring out the worst in us, not the best, if we are driven by greed and material things rather than evolving to a more heart-centered and spiritual level. If we can move into our heart and know that the celebrations, which are many, are about Spirit and not what we get as gifts, then this will be a very wonderful, heartwarming season for all.
Pluto drives relentlessly, once again, just as it did last December, into the heart of the Galactic Center and with Hades in opposition. We have had an entire year to get used to this triple combination of world altering and template shift energies. And having gone through this already should help us to maintain a better balance and stay in harmony more than last year, too. Practice makes perfect.
Flu season and epidemics are a very real possibility with this combination. Dissolving of relationships is big in this month, as a result. It could be you are let go of a job you needed. But remember: when one door closes, another will open in its place--so this is a veiled opportunity even if you don't feel it right now. All relationships, whether friendships, business partnerships, your marriage or live-in partner, undergo an intense scrutiny.
On December 6th, Saturn goes retrograde and the Economy sags once more. Also, on that same day, Mars gallops into effervescent and optimistic Sagittarius, so some people may rely too heavily on credit cards to buy gifts--and you should not. This is a time to tighten the purse strings, not open up the purse. Add to this, Saturn continues to trine Pluto all month long, so boundaries and obstacles may either be put into place or magically removed. If you are on the right path for yourself, they will dissolve. If not, and you find yourself between a rock and a hard place, look around to do things differently--you will be shown other paths that are best for you, instead.
On the 11th, Venus, the planet of pleasure and desire, goes into flinty old Capricorn and the Grinch just stole Christmas from the retailers. If people buy now, it is going to be a larger purchase but one of value that will last a long, long time. There is not going to be the frivolous buying that retailers hope. Capricorn is a hard bargainer and if the sales aren't there, the prices not low enough, people are not going to buy. The upside of this combo is that Capricorn always cherishes the truly important things in life; not just the material world. So this can be a holiday season from the heart as few have experienced in their lifetime; take advantage of it. Remember that it's not the gifts that count--it is your heart and intent. You are the gift this year by simply visiting or showing up.
From December 20-22 we are in a nasty accident axis with Mars square Uranus. This does NOT bode well for airline travel and I would strongly urge people not to fly during this period. If you do, the plane can have mechanical failure, keeping you on the ground for hours or a day or two. Or, a sudden, unexpected blizzard comes up, stalling all the East Coast traffic and shutting down many airports. There is going to be such a snarl of travel during this time, it is worth it just to stay home and have your holiday with your immediate family if possible. This is also an explosive combination, and terrorists may strike during this time frame as well. Mars rules fever and the flu season may suddenly spike and be a miserable reality more than usual, too. If you drive, do so knowing that there's going to be possible breakdown with your auto, delays and sudden things happening that you may not have counted on. The stress level just before Christmas is very, very high. Do what you can to de-stress yourself instead.
OTHER DATES:
December 16 Hanukkah - Begins on this Saturday and the day is a joy to behold, no matter what your belief system is. This is a fun day to enjoy with your loved ones.
December 21 Winter Solstice - A time to go out and thank Mother Earth for keeping us alive. Give birdseed and suet to the winter birds, grain and dried fruit to the squirrels and other critters who need to survive the winter season.
December 23 Hanukkah - Ends and the day is another glorious one that stands out and shines. Heavy retail buying is possible.
December 24 Christmas Eve - Is almost a perfect family day. Travel will be smooth and those you love will be happy to see you.
December 25 Christmas Day - Is a mixed bag at best. For families who get along, it will be wonderful. Those who have wounds and old memories, this day is a spoiler if you don't make some positive and healthy choices to make it otherwise.
December 26 Kwanzaa - Begins and the first half of this day is glittering, but it can spiral into some stress if not careful.
December 31 New Year's Eve - This is not a good day to drink and drive. The aspects are nasty. My suggestion is you stay home and celebrate quietly with some hot, mulled wine.
