THE TENOR OF THE YEAR
2007 in numerological terms is 2+0+0+7 = 9. This is a “9” year coming up and the twelve months within it are going to test us all on some level. Why? Because a “9” energy is about tying up loose ends and finishing unfinished business. Iraq certainly qualifies. Bush has put us into a war that should never have been and now, extrication is going to occur much slower than we want. And lives will continue to be lost. And for what? The twisted, distorted and warped idea of Bush? What ashamed. There were those of us who protested from the first that we should not go into Iraq. Now, six years later, we are being shown we were right to protest and try to stop Bush and his hawks who wanted another Vietnam all over again. And interestingly enough, the same crew that was around during the Vietnam war were the same ones who triggered this one. Bush hid in the reserves in the USA so he didn’t have to go to Vietnam. Too bad. If he had, he’d have thought twice about going into Iraq. What irony. With a “9” energy this is going to become a test of wills and whoever has the stronger one is going to get their way. One hopes the Democratic Congress gets a big set of cajones and gets the job done and gets our brave men and women out of Iraq and stop the needless, senseless loss of life.
On a more personal front, we are all going to be finishing up tasks that have been ongoing perhaps for months or years. This is the year where it will be put to bed and to rest--finally. It will require patience and if you don’t have much, you’ll certainly get more as this year rubs off against you.
And, “9” energy always means delays. So, expect them. Whether that means going to work, flying on a plane (foolhardy as it is), across town, across the nation or the world. Delays are going to be rampant.
On the high side of this number expression, it means we’re trying desperately to reach into our hearts and to express ourselves through our heart--not our lower chakras where it’s too easy to succumb to our lower desires and addictions. Compassion, human caring and being aware of the human condition will take front and center this year. Whether it hits home in your own family where you must become a caretaker for a parent or see the plight of uneducated children in the US or other countries, this is the time to volunteer to help. Or, at least be supportive when and where you can, if possible. This is a year of forgiveness not only of yourself, but forgiving others as well. And if you can’t forgive them, at least start with yourself and Time will take care of the rest. At it’s highest, unconditional love will be spread like fairy dust upon the globe. Many who have been striving nonstop to be heart-centered will finally receive that gift from Spirit. One that is well earned through constant, tireless, hard work and effort.
The tests and initiations in a “9” year are the most difficult to attain. And we will all be tested personally. The tests will come out of our relationships, our business partners or people we work with and the stranger on the corner, as well. In some ways, this is a year of constipation where everything moves more slowly than usual. And if you’re impatient by nature you are going to bridle over the sluggish, almost blocked (seemingly) energy around you. Just know that these delays or slow downs are there for a reason.
A “9” energy is the culmination of the other eight numbers before it. Anything not learned in the last eight years will be served to us on a silver platter this year to work through and come to terms with. It is never easy nor is it usually painless, although I wish it were. We seem to be a species that doesn’t learn when things are easy and soft. Only when pain is applied, to we change, throw out things that have outlived their usefulness and let go. Then, we grow, transform and mature (usually). And those that don’t go through this process dig more deeply into hiding through their drugs and alcohol addictions, or try to escape by running away from whatever responsibility they are supposed to take on and assume. This is also a time of a higher suicide rate than normal because the pain may seem too great and people just opt out, instead.
On another energetic playing field, this year is asking us to be broad mined, not narrow minded. Idealism will take root more than before. And humanitarian giving is going to be stressed. This is a time of creativity as well, whether it means that you are finally going back to a hobby you once had but left because you were too busy, or new talent within you is going to take root and grow. If you’ve always wanted to paint, but didn’t, this is the year to pursue that desire. Whether it is learning how to write a song, write a book, learn to paint, draw or play an instrument, go for it.
Volunteerism, an offshoot of compassion and humanitarian offering, is going to be strong and supported. Look to see how you can be of service to others in your own community. Perhaps you work behind the lines of a food kitchen, or help serve the poor during the holidays. The energy in the air is about knowing you are part of something greater and that we are all related and connected. It cannot be stressed enough that whatever you give out, you are going to get back tenfold by your thoughtful, unselfishness.
Think about being a mentor in your home town. You don’t have to look far to be of service to others. Your knowledge can be helpful to those who are young and seeking help, guidance and support. Or become a Big Brother or Big Sister. Maybe spend an hour a week at a retirement or nursing home reading to those whose eyes can no longer do that. When you stop and think about these little things that can mean so much, I’m sure you will know how to serve.
There is going to be new seeds of friendliness and kindness spread across the world. So much of the nastiness, the selfishness, the lying done by so many, are no longer going to be acceptable. The “9” energy can bring back solid morals and values as no other number can. People are going to start seeing and ‘getting’ the broader picture of Life. Everyone’s vision is going to stop revolving narcissistically around them and they are going to look around and understand their choices DO affect others. And so, we may well see a welcomed change in behavior from people and it’s long over due.
Metaphysics or the paranormal realm is going to be even stronger in 2007 than before. In the writing and publishing arena, vampire books and anything on the paranormal is ‘hot’ but it hasn’t crested yet. You will see even more books on the invisible realms and some very thoughtful, life-changing books from the non-fiction sector about spirit and living a spiritually fulfilling life.
Religion is going to continue to take thumping from those few who think we should all be like them. The “9” year offers a ‘live and let live’ attitude and respecting everyone’s own unique belief system instead of trying to burn them at the stake for it as the religious right has done since 2000. Polygamy and Warren Jeff’s are going to finally be going to court and they will judged. Religious males who have more power than most, will take their falls this year as they did in 2008. The Catholic church has been taken to task that many of their priests who are sexual predators in disguise and this will continue to pursued until justice on a higher level is served and the victims get well deserved remuneration.
There can be drama kings and queens this year that pop up from time to time. That is a poor use of “9” energy, but it is there and may well express itself. Bush is a certified drama king and I dare say we’ll see more of histrionics and antics this year as the US voters demand he get out of Iraq. His tirades and hissy fits will continue. One hopes without too many taking him seriously.
There are going to be international as well as national social movements take root in the “9” year. This may be a particular philosophy or focus on some humanitarian efforts.
Be aware that if you hold a grudge or want ‘pay back’ or desire revenge that this is not the year to try it. A “9” year asks us to release whatever happened to us and hand it over in surrender and with FAITH to a higher source who will handle it, instead. We all get into situations where we do the right thing, but our dark twin would love to get even or do something to fight back. 2007 is not the year to go there. Instead, the higher energy of this number asks us to release it. Completely. To step back and step away from it. Let it go. And let the Creator take over and do what should be done. We cannot judge. If we go there, we are no better than before. This “9” energy is about FAITH and developing our faith so that we can let revenge slide and dissolve.
If you are holding on to a situation, a person, place or thing in this year--you can’t have it. You’re going to have to release it. Because, if you try to be a control freak about it, the opposite will occur. If you know you should move but you refuse too for any number of reasons, your house may be destroyed in a fire, a flood, a hurricane or tornado to force you to move. That is the kind of energy that is around, so don’t fight it any longer. Just move on. And have faith that as you move, one door closes but because of your courage and blind faith, another door will open at your new abode or job. Faith and courage are huge in 2007. We need a lot of both. And they are there for us if we only surrender over to a higher power and ask for the help. We will get the support and help that we need--always. Those who move on this blind faith knowing will be richly rewarded in 2007. Those who do not are going to get ashes and a lump of coal in their stocking. As always, the choice is ours. We do have free will choice and if we don’t always make a decision for the higher, greater good of ourselves and others, we are going to get a cosmic spanking we aren’t soon to forget.
A good ending thought about what a “9” year is all about is: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” If you can live your life by the Golden Rule for 2007, you are going to be enriched on every level by the end of this year. Guaranteed.
And if you do not, then you will think this has been one of the most nightmare-like years of the last nine you’ve had to live through. For me, it’s an easy choice: take the heart path, take compassion and be a humanitarian, be kind, grateful, gracious and thankful. These are all “9” attributes of the highest kind. The Cosmos doesn’t demand perfection from us--only that we TRY to live up to these spiritual ideals on a daily basis the best we can. And everyone can do that.
FEBRUARY 2007
It is interesting to me that this month is “Valentine’s Day”--the day of the heart. And our heart is about our emotions. Understanding that we are in a “9” Universal year, February is a “2” month. This is about duality. At two of some “thing.” It is also, according to Karen David, a world class Numerologist, ruled by the Moon and has to do with our emotions.
I’m not a Numerologist, but let me say this: February is going to end up being a highly emotional month for everyone on the globe. Emotional about what? Well, whatever or where ever you are having difficulties and you’re trying to learn something, will be ground zero for you.
We’re also two degrees away from Pluto being conjunct the Galactic Center (Pluto 28 Sagittarius), so there’s SOME relief from having ourselves grinded slowly but surely into “dust to dust” because Hades, the planet of such things, is opposite Pluto even now. Some of the intensity isn’t there this month, thank goodness, but the grinding away of things we don’t need any longer (whether we realize it or not), is going to continue. Only this month, because it is a “2” energy, means our emotional body (the astral body in our aura) and our feelings are going to take center stage. To say the least, drama kings and queens and truly, drama situations came rise up in our individual lives. The key is how we deal with the situation(s), as always.
I know a lot of people are just very, very tired. And well they should be, because we’ve been grinding away at our dark side, our wounds, for several years now with Pluto moving back and forth across the Galactic Center with Hades in opposition; making it even more painful than usual. This wearing down process has a reason too. Many of us don’t give up control or make the necessary changes until we are so tired we do give up, literally and figuratively. And in giving up, which is good, we give OVER and then, we turn the corner on ourselves. This is a process of dying and rebirthing since Pluto and Hades are intimately involved in this process. The letting go is what is so painful to do. And we are all there right now. And along comes a “2” month of February, armed with a “9” energy behind it and something is going to have to give, turn over, be released in order to allow new, more positive and growth oriented energy to enter our lives.
Pluto and Hades are what I call the “death throes” duo simply because Pluto is Transformation and Hades is the dissolving of all we knew, back to the essence of the dirt on the Earth. As grim as this sounds, it really doesn’t have to be. It is a process. We all are dying on some level of ourselves--whether it is the death of an old attitude, for example, or death of an emotion that no longer serves usefulness in our lives. It does NOT mean we are going to physically die. And in a “2” month, I see this positively and as an opportunity to finally come full circle with our emotional woundings and baggage in an effort to finally release them and move on. This could be a month of liberation if we surrender.
February starts off with a FULL MOON at 12 Leo 29 that takes place at 9:45 pm PST. This means that Leo and Aquarian people, or those with either of these signs in their natal chart, are really going to get the opportunity to off load all the above discussed items. They are in the ‘spotlight’ so to speak, to get the baggage offloaded. It will be done either quietly, when an inner realization hits you and you “get it,” or you will draw some outer, third dimensional drama to you so that you can act out in it accordingly. There’s lots of emotional energy that kicks off this month.
On the down side, Leo and Aquarian drivers can move into ‘road rage’ attitudes if they aren’t careful. Projection onto others is always high at full moon time and this is no different. My advice is tread lightly, give people a LOT of room to squirm around in, and don’t try to necessary control the situation.
There is a Moon inconjunct Uranus on the day of the full moon, and this means possible airplane disasters, problems with automobiles and electricity in some for (electrical appliances, electrical wiring in a car, etc.). It also can be a bone jarring emotional day with some ugly surprise rearing its head and you having to deal with it. The shock value of February 1st is there. But, the good news is we also have the Moon trine Jupiter, and this can behave either for or against that nasty Uranus who is having a temper tantrum with the Moon. Jupiter isn’t always ‘good luck’ and things are easy and ‘lucky.’ When a trine aspect is involved, it can mean too much of a good thing.
For example, it could mean people just pop their corks and spin out of emotional control. Jupiter, in this case, adds more fuel to the fire or more of a foot down on the accelerator (rather than the brake), and so things just begin to unravel like a ball of string. If you get caught in an emotional situation like this....back out of it or low key it or don’t join the fracas. This is a day where accidents abound from tripping on a sidewalk, to tripping over our own feet to falling and really hurting ourselves. Accidents are a way to release pent up energy that we haven’t expressed. And this is one of those days.
The other possibility is that the Moon trine Jupiter on the day of the full Moon is that ‘good luck’ will be around to save the day. Jupiter, at its finest, is our guardian angel who whisks us out of harm’s way at the last possible second. Let us hope that Jupiter is tasked with such a job today rather than aiding and abetting nasty Uranus who is in a just plain rebellious mood.
The Full Moon energy has been felt from January 27th through February 1st and then, rolls on like an invisible tsunami wave through February 6th, when it finally runs out of steam. The first week of February is going to be explosive, emotional and testy. It is also a week where decisions are made. The Full Moon is about fruition and so, things truly do come to a head this first week. With Uranus playing the bad guy, it isn’t going to be all happy news but with Jupiter there, some elements will be saved for a somewhat better ending than some might anticipate.
On February 10 we have the Last Quarter Moon at 21 Scorpio, so Scorps and Taurus folks are going to be wrapping up some kind of deal or project at that time. This has a lot of stress with it because Moon is square Saturn and Sun is opposed Saturn. This can mean that some long term project is finally being turned in or finished or close to being finished, which is good news.
Mercury goes retrograde on February 13 (see accompanying article that is already hung on medicinegarden.com) at 10 Pisces. Those lucky enough to have this degree (or by opposite, 10 degrees Virgo), may find that a pet project of theirs is going to be delayed or shelved or in some way, blocked or stop for now. But don’t worry, this is temporary. It could be that people or a person gives you feedback on how to revamp or rethink or replot your idea or project. Listen to all sides carefully and remember, they are not trying to destroy your idea; only make it stronger and better.
Don’t forget: Valentine’s Day is February 14th and with Mercury retrograde, you may inadvertently put your foot in your mouth and make a mess of it with that special person in your life--so THINK before you SPEAK and dinner will turn out to be wonderful. Otherwise, you may have a lot of quick explaining to do and the night will come to a quick end.
On February 17th, we have a NEW MOON at 28 Aquarius 37 that takes place at 8:14 am PST. This is a time of quickening, a time for the seed to be planted. If you have an idea, an intuition for a specific direction, this is the time to do it. Luckily, everyone’s emotions are at ‘low tide’ at this time, so that’s good news! This is a very positive New Moon with Sun sextile Pluto, Moon sextile Pluto and Sun and Moon conjunct. A very “Plutonian” energy day, this is about transformation or the snake shedding her old skin to reveal a new, beautiful one. Many people, but in particular, Aquarius and Leo people, are going to make some serious, deep changes in their behavior or thought processes on this day, or five days leading up to this date or five days after it. Take advantage of the Pluto energy to make these changes....give up control and surrender over to a higher power. If you do, things will work out no matter how they look presently. With the sextile aspect energy there, it means you’ll have to work your way through this change, but it can be done and you’ll come out the other side of it glad you did it. This is a very positive and auspicious New Moon.
On February 18th, the Sun enters Pisces....so, Happy Birthday, Pisces friends! Things are going to begin to be highlighted in your life and as your solar return (birthday) occurs, you will start a new chapter in your life, which is a very exciting time!
On February 21st, the Goddess of Beauty and Pleasure, Venus, glides into hot blooded, rearin’ to go Aries. Venus is not always happy in Aries because of it’s hard male energy, its impatience and hurry up kind of frame of mind. Venus likes to take her time, dawdle, enjoy and linger. Quite the opposite of headstrong Aries the Ram. The good news is that Aries and Libra people will see more beauty, upliftment, enjoyment, party times and celebration than anyone else. So, enjoy this quick flit of Venus through the sign of Aries and plan a nice dinner with your mate or best friend.
On February 23, we experience the First Quarter of the Moon at 5 Gemini. This is a time when new projects and ideas start to get off the ground. Gemini and Sagittarian people are in the focal point of this position, so if you have a new insight, idea or project, speak up. It will be well received right now.
On February 25th, red hot, impatient and hard-hitting male Mars will zoom into airy fixed Aquarius. This is a nice combo of fire mixing with air so you get a lot of “hot air,” as a result. And of course, with heated air, you can raise a blimp, move a steam engine and do all sorts of neat things. This means a huge boost for Aquarian and Leo people who may feel they just got jettisoned out of a cannon. Take advantage of whatever comes your way with dazzling speed....make up your mind in a hurry....and tally ho! Gallop on!
People who are Aquarians or by opposite sign, Leo’s, are going to feel revved up, energized like the Energizer Bunny, full of hope, full of fire and wanting to conquer the world toward whatever goal they have in mind. Add to this that this is a fixed sign,so your energy is going to bump up and stay there long term which is great--you can accomplish much while fiery Mars roars through your sign through April 5th--so take advantage of this extra energy and “make hay while the sun shines.” Other signs that will also get a vigorous boost and a kick in the pants will be Aries, Gemini, Libra, and Sagittarius.
On February 26th, speedy Mercury, god of communication, moves into Aquarius, too. This is truly a month for all Aquarius people, not to mention, their birthday month as well. With hard charging Mars and communication’s expert Mercury both in your sun sign, you are likely going to be on the road, traveling and getting things in place on some pet project or idea. This is truly you month. Leo’s, by opposite sign, are also going to see a number of priorities come to fruition for them and they can move forward on them after fence sitting for sometime. This is good news, too.
