Flower Essences for PTSD, Part 7

We've seen the pervasive devastation that PTSD can wreak on a person's life. Literally, no corner or facet of a life remains untouched by it. It's simply at matter of how much it is 'staining' the fabric of that person's life, and to what depth. Because everyone's vital force is different, different healing 'tools' must be considered. What I will share with you here is not the whole answer. Indeed, for some, it won't mean anything at all. For some, there will be a resonation with a certain homeopathic or Flower Essence when it is read.

Psychotherapy, homeopathy, soul recovery and extraction are perhaps, in my opinion, the three greatest 'tools' toward real cure of PTSD symptoms. Everything else, including Flower Essences, become adjunct 'tools' that can lend support to the larger, more powerful ways of healing mentioned above. We've covered soul recovery and extraction in an earlier article. The most important consideration for someone to think about SR/E as a healing path, is that they first, identify the possibility of missing pieces. The signs of soul loss were covered in detail earlier. Secondly, any healing method undertaken must have the trust and faith of the person who is employing it. For instance, if a person doesn't believe SR/E will help--it won't. Or, homeopathic treatment, etc. We must all resonate to what we know, inwardly, will help us heal. There are different answers for all of us. Luckily, there are many 'tools' out there, too!

Flower Essences are an adjunct to homeopathic treatment and frequently may be suggested by one of my facilitators when a particularly traumatic pieces is brought back via SR/E for a client. The flower essence take the 'edge' off. The best news is they don't suppress or interfere with a homeopathic remedy; which is why I've continued to develop them for use. If you resonate to any of them below, more than likely, it will help you. Some essences are more powerful than others. I'm placing a 'star' on the powerful ones with an accompanying warning--do not take it without professional help being available. You may want to take an NE (or more than one, depending upon how you resonate with them and your symptoms match their accompanying symptom picture) before an SR/E, or during therapy. If you are under the care of a therapist or homeopath, please consult with them FIRST before taking any essence. Get their permission and guidance. Don't do it without them knowing you want to take an essence.

FLOWER ESSENCES FOR PTSD SYMPTOMS

RED & YELLOW BROMELIAD: This is for the individual who is super sensitive to light, sounds, and odors. If they get into a crowd type situation, or get too closely crowded, they may lose their temper, become highly agitated or angry. This essence helps to tone down the super-sensitiveness as well as the edgy quality of someone's irritability which always moves into an angry outburst toward another or a situation. Frequently, this type of individual is quiet and shy, and you wouldn't think them capable of an explosive, angry outburst--but that's because they are literally sitting on a time bomb within themselves.

Or, they may swing to the other extreme of being super-egotistical, a braggart, bossy, militaristic and pushy towards other. It's all a bluff, of course, but they can look like the raging lion upon occasion and subdue others with their powerful presentation. They are a paper tiger--scared inside. However, if pushed, they won't always back off--and that's when they may allow some of this ugly fear to vent itself. This person can become highly aggressive and even physically threatening. Red and Yellow Bromeliad is known to take the edge off such behavior. To retrain this and vent it in more positive ways, other more primary tools need to be employed that are acceptable to this individual.

Children, who after experiencing or witnessing a terribly traumatizing situation and then begin acting out their aggression, do well on this essence. It's not unusual for a child to become out of control, striking out, hitting, biting or kicking days or weeks after a PTSD episode is experienced. Red and Yellow Bromeliad backed up with SR/E, homeopathic treatment at a constitutional level or psychotherapy, can help remove this trauma so that the child doesn't end up carrying it around with him or her the rest of their lives.

CENTURY PLANT (Agave parryi) is designed to gently move a person who is blocked by a PTSD trauma into wanting to make the necessary changes so that it no longer holds them in a tight, unrelenting grip from the past trauma. This is a powerful flower essence and yet, is one of the quietest and most gentle of all the PTSD remedies. Century plant is about transformation; slow but sure. It helps in the worst cases and frequently, I will combine it with Crested Prickle Poppy in worse case scenarios (but this combo is always used when a homeopathic practitioner, shamanic facilitator or therapist is in place, first).

Known as the 'break through' essence, it will help shore up an individual's desire to heal from the PTSD. Another essence I will frequently consider along with Century Plant is Bear Grass, which is below. I've never seen blocks dissolved as rapidly and thoroughly as with this essence. Bear Grass lives up to its name as being a master healer in the essence world and when teamed with the bull dog quality of the Century Plant, it is a particularly powerful, yet gentle combination.

*CRESTED PRICKLE POPPY (Argemone Platyceras) is one of the most powerful of the PTSD tools I know of. It, more than any other, can work rapidly toward bringing up those memories we've repressed or suppressed. This essence should not be used if the individual is mentally or emotionally unstable; as it can send a person into psychotic break. This essence works swiftly with us by bringing up our "shadow" contents from deep within our subconscious where the worst of the PTSD symptoms continue to lurk and poison us. It does this by bring up in our nightly dream state, 'shadow dreams' where we think or know we're going to get killed by whomever is chasing us.

The dream nature of Crested prickle Poppy is not to clothe it in mysterious, unidentifiable dream symbols. No, when we're dreaming with this essence, it's pretty black and white. For those who have never dreamed (you do, but don't recall it), or you forget your dreams as soon as you wake up, this Flower Essence will help you remember and recall after waking.

This is an essence for a person who really wants to work aggressively through their PTSD and get it done and over with. This is not an essence for the faint-of-heart, or for those who are sitting on the fence, not sure if they really want to plumb the poisonous depths of their unconscious. It takes a lot of courage to face our own closet of skeletons and manmade monsters from our past. This Flower Essence will do it.

A note of caution here: Take Crested Prickle Poppy twenty minutes before going to bed. Put four drops beneath your tongue. Keep a pen and paper nearby so that you can begin a dream log and if you take this essence for thirty days, go back over your dream log and you'll see a very obvious message forming, repeatedly. If the dreams become too much, then stop taking the essence for 5 days. Then, start again. It is within your power to begin to allow the poisons to 'vent' under controlled conditions. Never take this NE at any other time of the day; it can make you spacy so that you won't pay proper attention to your driving.

I've written a book on the provings we've done on this incredible resource. It is entitled Crested Prickle Poppy Proving and is available for ten dollars for those who want a definitive guide to all the symptoms it can deal with--which are considerable.

YARROW (Achillea Millefolium) is a must for those who have PTSD symptoms that are specific to not feeling 'safe' in certain places or situations. There are specific colors to address this safety issue, or this raw feeling of vulnerability. White Yarrow is a general, over all sense of no safety. It is not specific; just a vague sense of danger that is felt almost every where. Yellow Yarrow is about the mind or mental faculties that combine with our solar plexus, where the seat of our fears and anxieties live. Pink Yarrow is about not feeling safe around those who love us--we just can't reach out and trust them as much as we'd like to do.

Often, I'll suggest a Yarrow combination of all colors to strengthen the person's will and help to create healthy, more positive boundaries for the individual. This essence is particularly good for 'loners' who stalk off into the forest or hills to 'be alone'. The reason for being alone is that their personal boundaries have been destroyed years earlier and they are so raw and 'open' on other levels of themselves that they cannot protect themselves accordingly in such places as a shopping mall, a grocery store or other places where there are crowds of people. Noise, odors, psychic bleeding or hemorrhaging (you will feel weak and your mental faculties sputter to a halt and you may be forgetful), or any other negative energy is combated by the power of Yarrow. Not only does it help to slowly but surely rebuild a person's own boundaries, it allows them to speak up for themselves. And also, how to use the word 'no' and mean it. Many codependent women need this remedy who aren't necessarily burdened with PTSD symptoms.

BEAR GRASS (Xerophylum tenax) is a Flower Essence that comes from the Rocky Mountains. This is an incredible healer in many senses. Bears are known to be powerful medicine among the Native Americans. No less is its counterpart, this bulb plant that blooms only once every five to seven years high in the Rocky mountains.

From the provings that have been performed on it thus far, Bear Grass is going to have far reaching implications. First of all, it has white or yellow-white flowers and therefore, can deal with any and all Chakras of a person or animal. The yellowish cast to them strongly suggests that it can help in the realm of mental disorders and dysfunction; especially in cases of 'brainwashing', abusive family situations where powerful conditional pattern makes it hard to break from past, learned experience.

Bear Grass has the ability to move rapidly through blocks and to immediately dissolve them. Many of the provers report feeling this energy work, usually as a warmth in the region where the block was located. There is no question that this Flower Essence can 'clear the way' for relearning and breaking old, established habit patterns. For PTSD survivors, this can translate into the essence working directly and quickly in areas where there is still tension, denial, suppression or repression of either memories or emotions. It is not traumatic, as Crested Prickle Poppy can be in the dream state, sometimes. And any one can utilize this remedy.

CORN PLANT (Dracaena fragrans) is a recent proving. To put it succinctly, this essence has the ability to bring out and discharge our own darkness (anxiety, fears, paranoia, etc.) and replace it with a sense of profound peacefulness, calm and centeredness. It stabilizes a person very quickly. This proving was done just before the terrorists hit the Pentagon/WTC's, so it appears to be the most powerful of all the essences I've mentioned above, and this is the one I suggest everyone try.

These are but a few Flower Essences that might be considered in PTSD. There are many more, but they must be fitted along with specific symptoms of the individual. The ones reviewed here have powerful abilities directly tied to addressing trauma and PTSD symptoms in particular.
