Chapter 4
Homeopathic Materia Medica A-Z
A Materia Medica (medical materials) is simply a compilation of symptoms that, if a healthy person took this remedy, would cause this specific set of symptoms in them. To a homeopath it is a listing of symptoms that have been caused by the remedy listed.
The easiest way to use the Materia Medica is to match, as closely as possible, the injured person's symptoms to the remedy. If there are three or more symptom 'matches' then use the remedy. If there is one or two, do not. Go on to the next suggested remedy and look it up and see if you get a closer agreement on symptom matches.
If there is no symptom match (three or more) do NOT give them a homeopathic remedy. Do what you can as outlined in the Emergency Medical Response section and wait for 911 medical responders to arrive.
We have already shared three of many emergencies listed in Chapter 3, Emergencies A to Z. In this section, from Chapter 4, are all the remedies which correspond to them, so you can see how you can "cross-match" and utilize this wonderful book to the maximum. In this section, you will match the trauma or injury (such as bleeding) with the remedies listed in that section. When you can match 3 or more symptoms with one remedy--that is the one to use. We are going to list these remedies in a number of webpages for easy, quick downloading. Below will be: Aconite, Arnica and Arsenicum.
