- 1. This remedy has been used for
angina, anxiety, asthma, congestive heart failure, eye-related injuries, Hyphema, croup,
nosebleed, petit mal epilepsy, phobia disorders, pneumonia, respiratory infection,
valvular heart disorders, among others.
- 2. One of the premier hemorrhaging remedies.
- 3. For nosebleeds.
- 4. Easily reassured by person in charge.
- 5. Easily frightened by suggestions-be careful what you say around them; they become overwrought and anxious.
- 6. Needs company or people or attention at all times, especially during an injury or trauma. Shock can be ameliorated to a degree by touching
them with a reassuring hand.
- 7. Easily dehydrated.
- 8. For use in collapsed and debilitating states such as shock and hemorrhaging.
- 9. For strokes and cerebral accidents with paralysis on one side of the body.
- 10. Detached retina, glaucoma, and other eye trauma
(bleeding). Sensation as if everything is covered with a mist or veil or something is
pulled tightly over the eyes. Eyes feel "stiff." Pupil(s) are contracted (black
pinpoint in field of eye). Greenish or reddish halo about candle light (light bulb).
Letters appear red.
- 11. Thrombosis (blood clot) of retinal vessels and
degenerative changes in the retina. Retinal trouble with lights and hallucination of
vision.
- 12. Pain in eyes, pressure in eyes as from a grain of
sand. Eyes itch. Pressure in the eye as if it is going to be pushed or pressed out of the
socket. Shooting, smarting, heat and burning sensation in the eye. Pressing, burning pain
in the eyes. Tearing, especially in open air and facing the wind.
- 13. Congestion of blood in the eye. Redness of sclera
and conjunctiva. Yellowish colored sclera. Everything seems to have a gray veil. As if a
black veil is before the eyes. May see many colors when there is only one color. Black
reflections or sparks and black spots before the eye.
- 14. Bleeding peptic ulcers. Will have bright red blood or 'coffee-ground' colored blood.
- 15. Desire for cold drinks.
- 16. Angina pectoris where pains come on due to stress and they are worse lying on their left side and better from cold drinks and fluids.
- 17. Postoperative vomiting from anesthesia.
- 18. Water is thrown up as soon as it warms up in stomach.
- 19. Symptoms are WORSE from being touched,
physical/mental exertion, warm food or drink, getting wet in hot weather, in the evening,
lying on their left or painful side, climbing stairs, from a change of weather, from
talking, odors, warm food, suffering from loss of fluids (perspiration, bleeding,
vomiting, diarrhea, urination, etc.), and during a thunderstorm.
- 20. Symptoms are BETTER by being in the dark, lying
on their right side, eating cold food, being in cooling/cold air (also air conditioning),
being out in open air or near an opened window, washing with cold water, sleeping, being
massaged, or sitting.

(Elder)
- 1. This remedy has been used for allergies,
asthma, bronchitis, croup, laryngospasm, and pertussis, among others.
- 2. Constant, nonstop coughing that comes on about
midnight, with crying (if baby or young child) and shortness of breath.
- 3. Child awakes suddenly, nearly suffocating, sits
up, turns blue. Cannot exhale or breathe out. May have a loose, choking cough.
- 4. Hoarseness with tenacious mucus in the larynx that
refuses to be coughed up and out.
- 5. Spasmodic croup. Turning blue during seizure.
- 6. Hands turn blue, feet are icy cold, and child has
debilitating night sweats while in coughing mode. After coughing is done, perspiration
disappears. Perspiration over entire body-except the head.
- 7. Heaviness, constriction in chest with heart
palpitations. May be awakened from sleep with terrible, constricting feeling around heart
and chest.
- 8. Cold hands and feet-but rest of body is warm.
- 9. Infant who breastfeeds will let go of the nipple;
nose is blocked up and cannot breathe.
- 10. Wants to remain covered up-actually dreads being
uncovered.
- 11. Symptoms are WORSE from consuming cold drinks,
eating fruit, during sleep, lying down on bed, on left side, from motion, about midnight
or 2 am to 3 am, being uncovered, from dry, cold air, and if head is low, they must sit up
to regain breath.
- 12. Symptoms are BETTER from sitting up in bed.

SPONGIA TOSTA (page 204)
(Roasted Sponge)
- 1. This remedy is used for asthma, croup, bronchitis, asthma, laryngismus, and angina, among others.
- 2. Croup is worse BEFORE midnight.
- 3. Cough is created by a tickling or irritation in throat or chest.
- 4. Cough is dry-like a saw going through wood, a seal's bark, or a barking, harsh sound.
- 5. Anxiety that they are going to die from suffocation.
- 6. Dryness of the mucous membranes of the tongue, throat, larynx, and windpipe.
- 7. Anxiety with difficulty in breathing.
- 8. Mucus cannot be raised or coughed out of body; stubborn and must be swallowed.
- 9. Weakness felt in chest; they can barely talk. Oppression and heat felt in chest. Burning, rawness, and soreness felt in chest.
- 10. Constriction felt in throat, with tickling and dryness.
- 11. Pain felt in throat when coughing, talking, touching the area, or trying to speak.
- 12. Hoarseness. Voice gives way when speaking.
- 13. Throat feels as if it is burning and stinging. Dryness. Swallows small sips of water with great difficulty.
- 14. Symptoms are WORSE climbing up stairs, before
midnight, from experiencing a cold, dry wind or draft, from raising arms, from exertion of
any kind, from touching the affected area, when walking, stooping, rising, or talking.
- 15. Symptoms are BETTER when walking downstairs,
resting in a horizontal position, eating or drinking warm food or fluids, keeping head low
when lying down. Frosty weather helps cough.
