LATIN: Chrysanthemum maximum "Majestic"
GOOD FOR: Trusting your intuition. It enables you to trust what you know and then act upon it accordingly. The childlike essence. Helps one become young at heart and playful. Excellent for finding the child within and reconnecting with that part of yourself.
DID YOU KNOW:
To say the least, you are a mental giant. You think a lot--maybe too much. Your mind is sharp, curious, quick to jump and make up your mind about something. You do very well in academic surroundings. And you're good at memorizing things. Able to learn in classroom situations, you are a "book learner" type. Verbal by nature, you can communicate well in speaking as well as writing. Your world consists of using logic and rationalization. A prove-it-to-me kind of person.
THE HEALTHY YOU:
You're a gut-hunch kind of person whether you realize it or not. A lot of your decisions are based upon primal instinct which may or may not even tweak you consciously. However, you're a wonderful amalgam of rational mind (left brain) and right brain (instincts and intuition) IF you want to be. If you are truly in balance, you become very "whole-brained", utilizing both hemispheres of your brain to a very high degree. Not only can you know the answer to an Algebra problem before doing the math on it, you can also do the math to prove how you know the answer! That's a pretty neat trick!
THE UNHEALTHY YOU:
Insomnia can dog your heels because you are the one that gets the "gerbil running on the wheel" at night, and you can't shut off your thoughts. They just keep rolling along even though you'd like some sleep! You can get dogged, stuck and very stiff-necked about your belief system. Worse, you will be arrogant about it and you're right and the rest of the world is wrong. It's "my way or no way...." kind of blinders-on attitude. The old saying: You are cut off from the neck down, implies that you allow your logic and rational to rule you and you suppress your emotions--not a good thing in the long run!
CENTRAL FOCUS OF THE FLOWER ESSENCE:
1. Abandonment issues for the child so you can mother yourself, be creative and have more esteem, don't take life as seriously, yet more responsible. More optimistic to life.
2. Imaging was great with this remedy. Good for artists, visualizing concepts/images.
3. Movement and release.
4. Light, playful, giggly essence.
5. Androgynous, a joyful state without it being male or female--very balanced, but left-sided.
6. You can abandon yourself to be free and in-the-moment.
7. Mother and mother issue--bringing up the positive about it. The rocking motion.
8. Bonding with the child by the mother or father.
9. Seeing more creative ways to deal with your child and not abusing the child. Can help the parent to connect and understand the child's world by releasing your own blocks and you're free to be a child yourself. If you're sitting on your child within, that's the abuse/projection, and it frees your child within so you can deal positively with your own children you parent. Positive images of mother.
10. Mother/child connection.
11. Abandonment issues stop due to inner child abuse and can heal this specific issue and bring back playfulness and movement/dancing/expansiveness/little impishness/flirty.
12. Individual imaging is emphasized; sees things in terms of images.
13. Enables us to tap into our archetypal imaging systems. Right brained.

THOUGHTFUL COMMENTS FROM FD ABOUT SHASTA DAISY PROVING:
Hi, Eileen - some random thoughts that MAY be related -
On your website, in the proving section under Shasta Daisy, I found these interesting comments (caps are my added emphasis):
1. Felt nice energy on Crown Chakra, slid on left side like a SNAKE on WATERfall onto face, settled in jaw and teeth, not unpleasant.
2. Continued to slide down to left breast and left arm to hands, but settle in forearms; WATERY movement of energy, like a SNAKE.
3. Images like a SNAKE, feeling like a SNAKE and then WATER sensation. Flirty feeling to remedy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The snake images intrigued me. Archetypal, also. And movement, slow, like a dance side to side. The watery aspect. Conception and parent/child relationships. Creativity. You see, although most people interpret the snake image to be symbolic of our kundalini (also snake moving under the earth/quakes), Jeremy Narby came up with a different interpretation during his research on South American shamans of the Amazon Basin!
He wrote a book about his discoveries: "The Cosmic Serpent: DNA and the Origins of Knowledge." Tarcher/Putnam 1998. When the shamans ingest ayahuasca on a quest for knowledge of how to help someone or how to make a medicine, they encounter (usually) two serpents who then 'tell' the shamans what they want to know! Sometimes the shamans climb a ladder - or the ladder turns into the serpents. Narby took ayahuasca under the careful tutelage of a shaman and also met up with these serpents! It seemed to be a watery environment and the serpents moved slowly from side to side.
Via a careful search of the literature, his own personal experiences and interviews with shamans, he came to the conclusion that these shamans were getting their info and knowledge directly from the world-DNA itself, which in trance is represented by two serpents together or a serpent-ladder combination! Most of our DNA and that of every other living critter and plant on this planet is the SAME! We're differentiated into species/body types only by the small amount of differences that occur in our DNA!
When you think about it, this is mind-blowing! Here's scientific proof of the worldwide concept of indigenous peoples that we're all related, we're all ONE! Unity among diversity.
Another thought: I've read in at least a couple of books by anthropological/botanical researchers (don't remember now which ones, though) about how they'd examined the plant life along particular trails daily for long periods of time. But suddenly one day, there was a new, fully formed and blooming, plant right in plain sight where it hadn't been the day before! And it turned out that this brand new plant (new to western botanical knowledge also) had just the properties they were looking for! Could the intelligence of our Mother Earth have responded to the sincere desires of these botanists and provided them with something they could use?
So since the DNA of all the living species throughout the world is mostly the same, it wouldn't take much changing of the 'original' Gaia DNA material to cause the rise of a new species in adult form, suddenly, overnight almost. Scientists may have been looking in the wrong places for the so-called missing links that would prove their theories that biological evolution has proceeded in a gradual fashion!
Back to Shasta Daisy - since these images came up for the provers - do you suppose this plant also could take us back to a connection with the world-DNA? Not prepared and taken as a hallucinogen, but as a 'mother liquid,' before dilution into the flower essence to be taken 4x/day?
Just a thought. (I'm good at coming up with 'stuff' like this! Some think I'm sorta weird! ;-)) Sorry this is so long.
Blessings,
FD
EILEEN'S COMMENTS:
I was very taken with your dissemination of our Stage 2 proving of Shasta Daisy. That proving was done almost 4 years ago and I can STILL remember it to this day :-) We all ended up behaving like giddy little girls who were 5 or 6 years old--there was such a playful, innocent energy to this essence. I especially like to recommend it for people who have lost touch with their own, inner child. Adults have forgotten how to play and Shasta Daisy really brings this back into their lives.
Not all flower or gem essences move like this--so it is a strong point of this particular essence that does it. I had two huge areas of Shasta Daisy that we raise yearly. It is a perennial. It got so in the Meditation Garden one, which is 90% shaded, that the Shasta just took over everything. When I had to pull it out, I gave it a brick planter all of it's own, next to the English Garden Planter, instead.
When I pulled these up, they have a web-like network of very delicate, yet strong, roots and rootlets. They spread out in a cobweb pattern in a 360 direction. And they are like a malignant cancer spreading--their roots are so profuse that they "choke out" other plants and their roots.
So....here I am thinking out loud...no proof of this, but based upon the Doctrine of Signatures--and going along with your DNA hypothesis--I've seen cancers that spread and look EXACTLY like the roots of the Shasta Daisy. Exactly. My musing here is: Is there something about this plant, its energy, it's biochemistry that would fight or combat (naturally) cancer? If your DNA theory is correct, the answer is 'yes.'
I have no experience using Shasta Daisy, except on one individual who was an advanced cancer case. According to her daughter, it did give her some relief and help--but my sense is that it was too little, too late--but the mother DID get a tremendous energy lift and a lightening up of her personality from it.
Shasta Daisy is easily overlooked in the flower essence world--but it's a real chameleon who "hides" it's toughness, endurance and resilience beneath a fun-loving, childlike exterior.
Thoughts, FD?
FD'S INSIGHTS:
Hi, Eileen - wow - I've never seen cancer, much less like that. So sure, this makes sense - do you know of anyone who'd be willing to take it for that type of cancer? In addition to whatever else they're doing to fight the cancer, of course.
But I do know about certain fungus diseases, such as leprosy and histoplasmosis - this latter affects the lymph systems of the bronchial tubes and lungs and the reticuloendothelial system. But both these fungal diseases can be easily controlled now-a-days by antibiotics. But I'm not sure whether these fungus diseases spread in the typical reticulated mycelial structures that we see in leaf mold fungus, for instance.
In people who've been alcoholics all their lives, you'll often see a swollen bulbous nose with reticulated capillaries showing quite redly on the skin's surface.
Also how about varicose veins? Another reticulated appearance. Or how about conditions of the nervous system's extremities (meaning not brain and not spinal cord, but the rest of the nervous system) or the capillaries of the circulatory system? Lungs - conditions affecting the tiny branchings of the alveoli (sp) with their attendant capillaries?
Wonder what applying a drop or two of this essence directly to the affected area, such as varicose veins - plus taking it internally 4x/day would do? Do you ever administer a flower essence topically?
EILEEN'S COMMENTS:
Hi FD
You asked:
Do you know of anyone who'd be willing to take it for that type of cancer? In addition to whatever else they're doing to fight the cancer, of course.
Response: No, not off hand. But the Universe has a way of bring people who need a particular essence to us. In time, if this is true about the essence's unique abilities, then it will occur.
You said:
Response: I agree completely with your knowledge on this. Fungus Amongus is alive and well :-) (sorry, my medical black humor is a 'risin'--must be the eclipse energy.....chuckle)
You said:
Response: Yes, the spider veins. Seen them many time.
You said:
Also how about varicose veins?
Response: I hadn't thought of this--but I feel you're correct (can't prove this because we haven' used Shasta Daisy on varicosity's, either...)
You said:
Another reticulated appearance. Or how about conditions of the nervous system's extremities (meaning not brain and not spinal cord, but the rest of the nervous system) or the capillaries of the circulatory system?
Response: I dunno about the central nervous system--although Shasta Daisy's roots are thin, white and frail appearing--just as nerves look in a cadaver.
You said:
Lungs - conditions affecting the tiny branchings of the alveoli (sp) with their attendant capillaries?
Response: Yes, I think this is a good possibility--which MIGHT make it a candidate for respiratory problems such as: bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, etc.
You said:
Response: Since we sell our essences with a brandy base, this could be a really sticky affair. You could certainly do it topically because the skin breathes and is able to absorb it well enough. However, I'd suggest sublingually, under the tongue--providing the person was full conscious.
Thanks for the great ideas! :-)
FD SAID:
Eileen, just to clear up a little misunderstanding - I guess the way I wrote that about me and alcohol sensitivity made you think that I was attributing the burst of creativity to the brandy in the Shasta Daisy, rather than the essence itself.
No, what I wondered about was my immediate symptoms of feeling something happening all around my body each time I take the dose. Because just a tad of alcohol gives me immediate symptoms, too - but those symptoms are inside the physical body and stay there and don't feel good. The essence 'happenings' seem to burst gently out of the physical body and into my aura and do feel good. A difference.
EILEEN'S COMMENT:
Yes, and is you were a prover, you'd have to differentiate these things for us so we could say, positively, that it was NOT an alcohol - related action, rather, one based upon the synergy of your aura with the essence.
ANECDOTAL CASES:
FD:
Hi, All - a few days ago we had a little discussion about the Shasta Daisy. I started taking it this week. I stopped taking Coreopsis and Chaparral, to concentrate on just the Shasta Daisy.
First and second days - I was so tired and mentally fuzzy (certain astrological influences in operation here, too) that for the mental fuzziness I had to take several doses of the tissue salt Kali Phos. That cleared my mind enough so I could function normally. But physically, the 2nd day I just gave up and went back to bed for a nap. That night creativity set in with a bang and I stayed up until 1 a.m., fingers flying on the keyboard. I get up at 3:45 - 4:30, then go back to bed til 6 when I get up for good. (Has to do with having to get handicapped grandson up, washed and dressed for school, then put to bed downstairs before his dad leaves for work at 4:30)
So yesterday, the 3rd day on this essence, I experienced a burst of creativity and energy that I could hardly believe! And today (4th) it's still holding true!
I think that perhaps those first 2 days may have been a reaction to switching suddenly from Coreopsis and Chaparral to Shasta Daisy, as they're so entirely different from it. Eileen, would this be a possibility? I may end up adding them back into my daily doses.
Also, I'm now taking the brandy version instead of the vegetable glycerin flower essence that I've taken before. Even though each dose is only 4 drops, which translates into 2 drops of brandy (I think Eileen says she dilutes it half and half), I'm so sensitive to alcohol that I feel the dose - but maybe it's not really the alcohol - maybe it's the essence?
Symptoms: I feel 'activity' starting around my head first, then spreading down so that finally my whole body is surrounded with this activity. I can feel 'adjustments' being made somewhere - probably in the layers of my aura closest to the physical body. It feels good though, unlike my usual reaction to alcohol, which doesn't feel good - itchy, puffy and slightly dizzy within a few seconds of just a mere taste of an alcoholic beverage. Any comments, Eileen - or anyone else who's taken this essence?
Blessings, FD
******
Hi, All - Eileen, you said that if I were a prover, I'd have to differentiate these things happening all around my body when I take a dose of this essence. Well, there's nothing to differentiate - yet, at least. It's just a general impression of energy moving - coming out of my skin - starting with my head, then gradually involving the rest of my body. Then I feel as if I'm surrounded with subtle energy movement all around my body. This isn't differentiated into anything like chakras spinning - it's the same all over. And it's so subtle that I notice it only if I stand perfectly still for about 2 minutes after taking the essence.
I just sat here right now for a few moments with eyes closed - it's been about 4 hours since I took the first dose this morning. I now feel a 'thicker' 'substance' all around my body, forming about a 6 inch thick layer. Perhaps I'm just beginning to be aware of my aura and what it feels like instead of being aware only of my physical body.
Some people have told me that they can feel the outer edges of their auras and know when their auras touch something - this awareness would happen even with their eyes closed. It's the kind of awareness I hope to develop - and perhaps this Shasta Daisy essence will help me do this.
Blessings, FD
